Awkwafina
Awkwafina is an American performer and actor who made her name with smart raps that addressed sexuality and racial identities with a boldly comic perspective. She then expanded to Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese and Korean parents in Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was the first instrument she played for her. Jazz, classical and hip-hop studies began when she was a teenager. When she was in the college years, she remained focused on her studies and studied women's studies as well as journalism. While she was for a brief amount of time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were offered as well. However, it wasn't until she graduated that she turned her attention on music. Her track in 2012 My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success across the Internet eventually landing on her debut album Yellow Ranger in 2014. The album also featured viral hit tracks including body-positive Queef & winking home tour NYC BitcheUSD. The track that was the last one to be connected directly to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, which was which was published in 2015. Alongside having published a book as well, she also worked as a performer. Alongside early TV shows, such Girl Code and Tawk - she appeared in movies Neighbors 2 Storks and Bad Rap. She had a breakthrough role in the year 2018, with several high profile films, including Dude Ocean's Eight as well as Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she released the EP In Fina We Trust.
